Nitrocellulose (NC) membrane

The function of the NC membrane is to immobilize specific target molecules by utilizing their adsorption properties on the test and control lines (typically antibodies). Meanwhile, the sample and detection conjugates are guided to flow toward the reaction zone. To achieve this, the membrane must possess uniform protein adsorption capacity while also having appropriate pore structure and wettability to ensure the capillary flow of aqueous samples. The characteristic properties of many polymeric porous membranes can meet part or even all of these requirements.

Nitrocellulose (NC) membrane is a type of polymer.
